Optimisation of paint departments in 92 GAMMA stores
GAMMA recently completely revamped the paint departments in 92 branches in the Netherlands under the project name ‘Pixel’. This comprehensive approach focused on improving both presentation and user-friendliness. Cor Verkolf was closely involved during the development phase and took care of the delivery and assembly of the required shelving.
Why Project Pixel?
The year 2024 was dominated by developments within the world of paint at GAMMA Netherlands. Following the introduction of the colour scanner and mixable colour tester in 2023, the new paint proposition ‘GAMMA, THE number 1 in paint’ came to fruition in more than 90 shops with the introduction of the all-new Pixel paint department. In addition, all the other GAMMA shops have now been fitted with the all-new colour selector, which offers customers better assistance in choosing colours.
The main reason for these developments is therefore to remove uncertainty when choosing colour and thus steer customers more towards their own mixed paint colour. To meet the increasing demand for mixed paint, the paint mixing tower and paint mixing counter have been revamped and stock capacity increased. The new A-brand presentations also attract attention and exude confidence. In addition, the paint supplies department has been updated so that everything customers need is immediately visible.
Finally, work has been done on the paint aisle, where space is better utilised thanks to a new layout. The presentation of products is now clearer and in-store communication helps customers find the right products. This is complemented by up-to-date product information that ties in with both the physical shop and the online environment.
