Just like drive-in racking, shuttle racking consists of different channels. Each channel stores one specific type of product. With the shuttle system, you can use both FI-FO (first in, first out) and LI-FO (last in, first out).
The main difference with a drive-in racking system is the electrically powered shuttle. After placing a pallet in the relevant channel, this automatically moves it to the correct location. With a shuttle racking system, you do not have to drive into the channel yourself. The advantage? With a shuttle racking system, you have more freedom in placing your pallets. You can easily create longer channels.
