What is support bracket racking?
Flexible storage for long and irregular materials
Support bracket racking is a warehouse racking system in which horizontal arms are mounted on vertical columns. Because there is no back wall or fixed compartment layout, products of varying lengths can easily be loaded and removed.
This makes the racking particularly suitable for materials that do not fit on a standard pallet, such as tubes, profiles, timber boards and steel structures.
The construction is modular. The arms can be adjusted in height and load capacity to suit your specific storage requirements. Depending on the space available, you can choose a single or double sided configuration. For heavy materials, versions are available that are suitable for a high load per arm.
Cor Verkolf guides the entire process: from survey and design through to delivery and installation.

Benefits
Benefits of support bracket racking
- Direct access to every product
- Arms easily adjustable in height
- Modular and expandable later
- Optimal use of the warehouse height
The main advantage of support bracket racking is the direct accessibility of the stored material. Without dividing walls or fixed compartments, you can easily reach every product. That speeds up the picking process and helps prevent damage to materials.
The adjustable arms also provide a great deal of flexibility. If your product range or storage requirements change, the layout can be adapted or extended accordingly.
By also making good use of the available warehouse height, storage capacity can be increased without requiring additional floor space. In heavy-duty versions, every arm is calculated for the specific load in your situation.

Combinations
Often combined with support bracket racking
Support bracket racking is often one part of a complete warehouse set-up. By combining different storage systems intelligently, every product group can be stored in the right way.
- Pallet rackingFor palletised goods, conventional pallet racking can be a good addition. That way you combine direct pallet storage with a separate solution for long and irregular materials.
- Long span rackingFor large or irregular products that do not fit on a pallet or a support arm, long span racking can offer a solution. This creates a flexible combination for varying product dimensions.
- Complete warehouse equipmentCor Verkolf can also advise on the complete layout of your storage space. From floor plan and different racking types through to safety marking and installation.
Frequently asked questions
All about support bracket racking
What is support bracket racking and when is it the best choice?
Support bracket racking is an open warehouse racking system with horizontal arms mounted on vertical columns. There is no base or back wall, so products of varying lengths can be loaded in freely.
The racking is particularly suited to long materials such as tubes, profiles, boards and steel structures that do not fit on a standard pallet and need to remain easily accessible.
Which products is support bracket racking suitable for?
Support bracket racking is suitable for steel profiles, aluminium profiles, plastic tubes, timber boards, doors, window sills, laminate and comparable long materials, among others.
The open construction is also a practical solution for irregularly shaped products that are difficult to stack.
What is the difference between support bracket racking and pallet racking?
Pallet racking is designed for goods on pallets and has a fixed width per bay. Support bracket racking has no fixed bay width and is specifically suited to long or irregular material.
In many warehouses both systems are used alongside each other.
Can support bracket racking be installed outdoors?
Yes. Versions are available that are suitable for outdoor storage, for example in galvanised steel or with a suitable coating.
It is important that the foundation and anchoring are also matched to outdoor conditions.
What does support bracket racking cost?
The price depends on factors including the required load capacity per arm, the number of arms and columns, the height of the structure, a single or double sided configuration, and the choice between new or used.
After surveying your situation we draw up a suitable quotation.
Can support bracket racking be extended later?
Yes. Thanks to the modular construction, support bracket racking can be adapted when storage requirements change. Additional columns, arms or levels can be added.
When extending, the required load capacity and safety margins are reviewed again.
